WHAT IS MORE VALUABLE FOR YOU -- HOW TO DEVELOP BETTER RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS

HOW TO DEVELOP BETTER RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS

It is worth   thinking about the people who share your life and your time, at home and at work, ranging from the very close people like spouse, partner, family, friends, relations, Boss,    Subordinates , Colleagues, people you work with and   your customers and contacts you see only once in your life.

You can decide what kind of relationship you would like to have with all these people and how important they are in your life.

You can also consider how much time you would like to give to each of them, and how they fit into your future plans and activities. Think about these things. It is a good idea to ask all of them to think about these  things  . You will be surprised what can come out of comparing notes and ideas on the present and the future.

The kind of communication can lead to some clear and valuable communication lines being established and you could all be better equipped to support and help each other very well.

There are some exercise aimed at helping you:

* Identify which people mean something to you

* Achieve better relationships with them

* Find a basis for encouraging other people.

* Get more enjoyment and satisfaction from their company

It is all a question of time. You can allow people to use or abuse time, or you can choose to spend your time with people of better kind.

Consider all the people you have to spend time with. Some of those people will leave you feeling encouraged, some will leave you feeling really down and depressed. It is a good idea to try to spend more time with the encouragers and less with others.

Some people boost you sometimes and devastate you other times.

PURPOSE : To consider all the people who you are in touch with and decide whether they encourage or discourage you. Then you will have a basis for deciding whose company you value and how to divide your time in seeking to strengthen your relationships.

What to do:  -List the people who discourage you at work and in your private life.

-Make another list of the people who knock you down and depress you.

                    - Estimate how much time you spend with the encouragers and work out how to spend

                      more time with them

                    - Estimate how much time you spend with those who get you down. Work out a way to

improve your relationship with them and how you can spend less time with them.

                    - Make a plan that includes more time for the encouragers , those with whom you want to

improve your relationship and less time with discouragers. Set a target time for a week or

so and then review the plan. Repeat the exercise in a few month, a year etc.

Next will be  " You and Your Partner".   Till then Good Bye  and Thank You.

Only you can decide what you want from it . Seldom we do meet people who are so contented that they want nothing more from their lives.  Most of us have dreams and ambitions. Our aims are material - bigger house, big car, better job, more overseas travel etc. Achieving these aims probably takes a concerted effort in terms of decision making and breaking the mould of our lives. It is far easier to float with the current than to swim against the tide. But  to make changes in the less material aspects of our lives takes an even greater effort. Star by considering 1. What would make life more meaningful 2. What would give you more satisfaction 3. What would enable you to jump into bed at the end of each day contented with your achievement and progress of that day. - How to define your goals in life ? - What are yo...
