Honesty is the best policy -True Story rarely seen

Honesty is the best policy (No doubts)- True Story rarely seen

The Honest Scrap Dealer of Faridabad

In a world where stories of dishonesty often make headlines, one man from Faridabad reminded everyone that integrity still shines brighter than gold.

Haji Akhtar Khan, a modest scrap dealer from Faridabad, made a choice that many would call extraordinary — he chose honesty over a fortune.

The Accidental Loss

Just before Diwali, the Sharma family in Gurgaon decided to clear out old household junk. In the rush of cleaning and preparing for the festival, they unknowingly threw away a packet containing nearly 100 grams of gold jewelry — family ornaments worth around ₹15 lakh.

The jewelry was mixed in with regular trash and sold off as scrap.

Days later, when the family realized the mistake, panic set in. They searched everywhere but eventually assumed the gold was gone forever — a painful loss, especially around the festival of lights.

An Unexpected Discovery

Months later, while sorting scrap materials, Haji Akhtar Khan found something unusual hidden among the discarded items — a packet filled with gold jewelry.

He could have quietly kept it. No one would likely have known.

Instead, he chose a different path.

Through effort and inquiry, Khan traced the jewelry back to its original owners — the Sharma family.

Honesty Over Windfall

Six months after Diwali, the Sharma's received a gift they never expected to see again — their lost gold.

Khan returned every piece without asking for any reward.

In doing so, he proved that honesty is not dependent on wealth, status, or circumstances — it is a matter of character.

A True Diwali Spirit

While Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, Haji Akhtar Khan embodied that very spirit. His integrity became a reminder that real wealth lies not in gold, but in goodness.

In choosing honesty over a windfall, he gave the Sharma family more than jewelry — he restored their faith in humanity.
